Goger
Annelies Goger is the director of research for UpSkill America, an initiative of the Aspen Institute’s Economic Opportunities Program. A specialist in aligning education systems with employer demand, she focuses on building human-centered training ecosystems that foster economic mobility and resilience amid shifts in AI and automation.
Prior to Aspen, Dr. Goger was a Rubenstein Fellow at the Brookings Institution, where she partnered with state leaders to scale apprenticeships, implement skills-based hiring, and modernize labor data systems. Her extensive background includes senior research roles at Social Policy Research Associates and IMPAQ International, as well as a Fulbright Scholarship conducting doctoral fieldwork on global supply chains.
Dr. Goger holds a Ph.D. in economic geography from UNC-Chapel Hill, a Master of City and Regional Planning from UC Berkeley, and a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Brandeis University. She is dedicated to creating diverse, equitable pathways to wellbeing in the modern workforce.
