Jill Vialet is a serial social entrepreneur and governance practitioner based in Oakland, California. She is the founder of three organizations—MOCHA (Museum of Children's Art), Playworks, and Substantial Classrooms—and the author of three books: Recess Rules, Why Play Works, and Substantial Classrooms. Today, Jill leads Workswell Design LLC, a boutique firm focused on interim leadership, governance, and transition support for mission-driven organizations. Her current work centers on The Chair Project, an experimental initiative designed to build practical scaffolding for nonprofit Board Chairs navigating complexity and change.
