Strober
Myra Strober is Professor Emerita of Education and Economics at Stanford University. She has an MA in economics from Tufts University and a Ph.D. in economics from MIT. She also taught at the University of Maryland and U.C Berkeley. Her fields of expertise are women’s employment, the economics of the family, and the economics of childcare. Her signature course at Stanford was Work and Family.
Myra was founding director of Stanford’s Center for Research on Women, now the Clayman Institute for Gender Research and president of the National Council for Research on Women. She was a founding member of the Committee on the Status of Women in Economics (CWEP) and the International Association for Feminist Economic (IAFFE), where she also served as President. Myra is the author of 100 articles and six books. Her most recent book is Money and Love: An Intelligent Roadmap for Life’s Biggest Decisions, with Abby Davisson.
