Roselma

Roselma Samala joined the Weingart Foundation in 2022 as Program Officer. With over 20 years of experience, Roselma began her career as a Fiscal Officer for UCLA BruinCorps prior to her philanthropic experience working for two family foundations (The Merage Foundation and The Carl & Roberta Deutsch Foundation) and as Workforce Initiative Manager for Los Angeles Universal Preschool (LAUP). Roselma also co-owns Red Capiz Partners, a woman owned hospitality company based in Los Angeles and known for owning Genever in Historic Filipinotown, a James Beard nominated bar program and awarded one of North America’s 50 Best Bars in 2022. Born and raised in Southern California, she graduated from UCLA with a BA in Sociology and Asian American Studies, and later received her MBA from the Yale School of Management. Roselma is a lover of all things culinary and uses her free time to explore the world.
