Sarah Berghorst leads August Impact Partners, a consulting firm that works with social entrepreneurs and philanthropists to launch and scale high-impact, systems-level initiatives. She also serves as an Advisor to Alta Futures, a private impact platform focused on climate, democracy, and community. Previously, as Alta’s Founding Executive Director, she led the organization’s strategy, team, grantmaking, advocacy, and impact investing efforts.
Sarah’s career spans the nonprofit, philanthropic, and private sectors, where she has helped build and scale organizations advancing opportunity and economic mobility. Her experience includes advising impact leaders, scaling an education nonprofit, driving strategic change at Fortune 500 companies with Bain & Company, managing international microfinance programs, and serving as a Peace Corps volunteer. She speaks Spanish and has lived and worked internationally.
She serves on the boards of Braven and Whole & Free Foods and lives in Chicago with her husband and two children.
