Tracy Layney brings 25+ years of experience in human resources and organizational strategy. Named Chief Human Resources Officer of the Year by HRO Today in 2023, Tracy is recognized as an innovative HR thought leader. Most recently, Tracy served as EVP and CHRO at Levi Strauss & Co. Previously, she was SVP and CHRO at Shutterfly, Inc., and spent a decade at Gap Inc., including as SVP of HR for Old Navy. Tracy began her career in strategy consulting at PricewaterhouseCoopers, advising Fortune 500 clients on organization effectiveness.
Tracy teaches human capital strategy to future CHROs at University of Chicago Booth School of Business and advises companies on AI-enabled people strategy and innovation. She currently serves on the Boards of the SHRM Foundation, the GLIDE Foundation and Congregation Rodef Sholom. Tracy holds a BA in English from the University of Pennsylvania and lives in the San Francisco Bay Area.
